Stilly Valley Little League has established the Roy Strotz Scholarship Award to honor one of the most Inspirational figures in the history of our League.
Roy wore many "hats". Among those was coaching baseball with Stilly Valley Little League for over 30 years, eventually coaching a second generation of ball players. Roy had the pleasure of taking the Stilly Valley All-Stars Majors team to the state finals in 1989. After retiring from coaching, he went into umpiring. Roy's name is on the "Umpire Building" at Quake field in honor of his dedication to our Little League program.
The Roy Strotz Scholarship Award is given to a player who exhibits great sportsmanship and is an exceptional teammate.
The Roy Strotz Scholarship Award is presented annually to nominated Baseball and Softball player participating at League age 11. Players are nominated by Coaches upon completion of Spring season.
